What are Travel Nurses?
Travel nurses are licensed healthcare professionals who take temporary nursing positions at hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities in different geographic locations. Rather than working as permanent employees of a single institution, they move between short-term assignments that typically last 13 weeks, though some may extend for longer periods.
These nurses fill critical staffing gaps, provide support during peak seasons, cover for staff on leave, and offer specialized skills to units in need. They are often hired through agencies that coordinate contracts, housing, and travel arrangements.
How Do I Become a Travel Nurse in New Jersey?
Pursuing a career as a travel nurse allows you to take assignments at healthcare facilities across the country. Preparing for this rewarding nursing role involves meeting key requirements.
