About the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Job

Job Description & Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a critical part in the daily operations of a fast-paced outpatient clinic. From room preparation to patient interaction and administrative support, you’ll make a real impact on both patients and providers.
Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for procedures
- Record vital signs, perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection
- Enter accurate patient data into EMR systems
- Support billing, referrals, and prior authorization workflows
- Maintain clean, well-stocked clinical areas and follow infection control procedures
- Coordinate appointments, interpreter services, and external care communications
Qualifications for the Certified Medical Assistant
- High school diploma required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required
- At least 1 year of experience in an outpatient or clinical setting
- Strong phlebotomy skills and working knowledge of EMR systems
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care
